Peripheral measurements can provide valuable context for observed patterns in soil gas flux measurements. For example, environmental conditions like soil temperature and moisture are important driving factors of CO2 emissions from soil. Similarly, measuring photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) can be useful for determining contributions to net ecosystem exchange (NEE) from photosynthesis. The eosAC-LT/LO is equipped with two auxiliary sensor ports that are fully compatible with industry-leading soil temperature and moisture probes and PAR sensors, making it easy to record and process data from auxiliary sensors. This Application Note will cover the two auxiliary sensors that are most commonly paired with the eosAC-LT/LO; however, other peripheral sensors can also be used with the chamber.
